Collinite 845 is some bad stuff/ APC+ tip

Just washed my truck after a week of in the rain in and around DFW since I put on the 845. It was pretty amazing that my wash took a fraction of the time needed and it looks great. So great I am thinking putting a second coat on tonight.

It's a great Winter Wax to apply in case anyone was wondering.

As for the tip for using APC+. My issue with APC+ is that when using a spray bottle and any wind you will get LOTS of vapors from it and it breaks down any wax you have on surrounding areas.

My tip: Put several ounces in a seperate bucket for wheels and wheel wells. Add some water and use an old MF towel dedicated to wheels. I used the rag to get the tires wet with APC+ and water, then hand washed the wells then hit the tires with a tire brush and it worked as well as using a Spray bottle but without the issue of having to rewax.

Do I remember correctly you saying that you're using APC+ straight up? No dilution?

That was the old "RollingRock" of last month...the new "RollingRock" application method does just a good and I don't have rewax the truck. And yes it is diluted now.

Not sure of the strength.

Just checking... using it 'straight up' kind of worried me a little bit about the entire scenario but, it sounds like you're galloping down the better path now - you know, the one that lacks cow paddies.

Also, as another tidbit of a tip, spray the vehicle down prior to applying any spray cleaner. The little bit of extra dilution that you'll achieve by any overspray landing on a wet surface can be the difference between the cleaner cutting through the last step products that are there or keeping them in prime condition...

Funny thing...I had my hands in the APC+ solution with the rag and such...its strong and it really gets your hands clean....I am considering using rubber gloves next time.

That's because it has an undiluted pH of 13.5!!!!!!!!!!! Mind you, the pH scale only goes to 14!!!!!!!

It really is CONCENTRATED stuff -- hence the reason I was asking again if you were using it straight.

It really doesn't contain any true 'ugly' chemicals (at least not any SARA 313 chems -- which tend to snare the really ugly ones). Diluted out, you're good. Straight up... well, you've got a good chance of getting a chemical burn.

I can wash my hands with full strength 303 Cleaner if I wanted... and it still works great for detailing chores at 10:1.

Good stuff!!!

Just an FYI, I used APC+ in a diluted bucket. This is what my hands look like today after working on the truck on Sunday

I will do this again but next time I am wearing gloves.

Its not a big deal, doesn't hurt.
