i have a black 05 and there was VERY minor ghosting, but ghosting none the less. your truck has seen the sun and elements 4 years longer than mine has. just something to think about. YRMV.
but i do think pin stripes look like crap. i don't recall seeing them on the newer chevys or dodges. why does ford still put them on???

I took the lariat stripe, moulding, and FX4 sticker off my 02 F-150 last month and there was definately some ghosting, but not anything that I don't expect to blend in after several months. I didn't use an eraser whel on that truck, but I recently took a strip off my F-250. Wish I would have gone that route before, MUCH easier.

First heat up the end of it and try peeling slowly. If that doesn't work, go to your local paint supply store and get an eraser wheel. Be forewarned as mentioned above, the paint may be faded enough to leave some shadow effect behind the stripe.

I was hesitant to use one at first but glad I did. If the pinstripe just peels off then go for it. The last one I removed came off anout 1/16th of an inch at a time whn I tried it by hand. Eraser wheel took 5 minutes to take off both sides. Should look similar to this:

Just the other day I peeled the stripes off a 05 king ranch. It was taken to a local car wash and they messed them up all around the truck from the press. washer. Took me about 20 min. to peel them all off and there was just a small amount of residue I had to tend too. Other than that I couldn't really see much of a difference in the paint from fading. If there is, I am sure the pc can take care of it. So, I say go for it. Take your time and pull slowly, they came right off for me. And the truck looks 1000xxxx times better without them!
