Good 'ol hard GM clear coat.
Welcome to my world. at least 75% of my clients the last 6 years or so have been 4th Gen Fbody's (Camaro and Firebird) or Corvettes.
If you have to attack it with a DA, Menzerna IP and FP can be your friends.
more often than not, a rotary is what I end up using.

I remember working on a black metallic BMW 3 Series... that was fun.
HOWEVER,
Since some of you may remember the extremely crazy method for doing it (although it turned out beautifully), I wont post my method-- I will never do it again because it was VERY lucky and VERY risky... (okay, it involved wool pad and a Wallyworld D/A and Setp 1 of the DC system...)
I found BMW's to be the most rewarding to work on that I have done so far-- partially because everybody in my neighborhood thought I had a new car, but also because a detailed BMW looks SOOOOOO amazingly sharp... Beautiful German Design....
HOWEVER,
