Question Is this Scratch-X?

For Christmas, I received a Meg's basic detailing kit. It came in a nice wooden box and contained Gold Class Wash, GC wax, Hot Shine gel, Glass cleaner, Interior detail spray, Scratch-x, a foam applicator, and a sample packet of Plast-X. Like I said: basic. I take pride in maintaining a clean ride, but I'm new to this whole "OCD" level of detailing. Today, after my first ever 2 bucket 2 mitt wash job, I was excited to use the scratch-x and see what it did for the light swirl marks in my clearcoat. To my surprise, the product came out like water. After some serious "shaking vigorously" I applied more product to the applicator. Again, like water. I'm saying it was a thin as water, it was clear like water, and it didnt do a damn thing for my swirls. It had a very light scent though, so I know it wasnt just water. However, I did not taste it. Is this what Scratch-X is supposed to look like? Bad batch perhaps? I'm really stumped on this. Thanks for the help guys.

did it happen to freeze? Or maybe it froze in storage before it was sold. I've seen waxes/polishes seperate like that when they freeze hard. Posiblity...

X2

The consistency of the product should be similar to toothpaste. It has likely been frozen thus causing the water in the product to separate. Some products will go back into solution; some will not.

Nah... nothing great about an answer like 'tooth paste'. Just 'real world' description...

If I described it as Eco-Grip White Fishtooth, no one would've known what it was (google it and enjoy).

Let me tell you from experience: it's been frozen. This is a bad time of the year to buy this type of stuff (detailing stuff) as it travels in unheated vehicles or sits on unheated loading docks.
