help!? paint on plastic and chrome - Pics......

Please help my wife's Aviator has some white paint on the chrome surrounding the grill and on the plastic around the passenger side mirror. It looks like she drove through something on the road. They are small specks of white paint, what can i use to get this off. I tried soap and water, scrubeing lightly, i didnt want to try anything too abrasive before getting some advice. I would post some pics i took but not sure how.....any help will be greatly appreciated!

Upload the pics to a site like Photobucket, then post the [IMG] tag line here.

A clay kit should work to get that out. You can get it at any auto place... not sure on the plastic tho.

No problem. The clay may work on plastic too, i don't remember how i got mine off. This may by a big no no, but have u tried using your finger nail to get it off?

Btw if its really caked on there it will probably take a couple of attempts to get it off.

You could try claying the plastic, just use a lot of lube. If that does not work you could use mineral spirits. Make sure you use some kind of protectant on the plastic after the mineral spirits.

i may need to buy some of those plastic razor blades, i dont have long enough finger nails.... The mineral spirits sounds like a great idea Ftruck thanks, i dont know why i didn't think of that. I just finished repainting my kitchen and have plenty left from cleaning the paint off the tile floors. I'll test it on a small area you can't see first and make sure it doesnt damage plastic. Thanks for all the help guys
