Rail cover on top of bed?

How can I restore the solid black to the plastic covers that go around the bed on my F-150. They look as though they are covered in ash.

Ever used back to black on them? Would explain the ash.

I'm not sure if it would work once they're that far gone. However, I've been very happy with applying Meg's #40 with a foam applicator then buffing with MF towel.

Some people have scrubbed them good and painted them to correct the problem.

Some have also recomended

showroom-new-restorer

Lots of other stuff out there. Others will chime in on it soon.

Definitely a case of an ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure.

So far I have cleaned them with the Megs products, used Poor Boys trim restorer, Adams VRT, Just got Black Wow and if this does'nt work will try the
showroom new restore. Probably, once they go bad the only answer is to paint or buy new bed rails. Most of the above products make them look real good, until it wears off.

Isn't Florida great. I tried Mother's 'back to black' with a brass toothbrush and nothing happened. After reading many posts on this site I just ordered some showroom restore. If that doesn't work I think I'll take a liking to the 'Ashened' look.
