You should be able to use it unless it gets really dirty. There's really know way to tell you how dirty is too dirty though. I usually just throw it away. It's cheap enough to not enduce more scratching the next go around.

Did you get the white clay kit? If so, yes it comes with lube.

If it doesn't come with lubricant, Megs #34 will work just fine IMO.

When you used final detail, did you dilute it or use it straight?

Thanks,

To the original poster, the Megs Smooth Surface Kit comes with quick detailer, 2 50g clay bars, a sample of cleaner wax and 1 microfiber.

Also remember to cut the bar into a couple of pieces and if one is dropped and hits the ground throw it away. It is not worth the scratches you could put it by using after.

the meguiars kit at most auto parts stores is already cut about half the size of the mothers, so if you do cut it again its pretty small and then id recommend throwing that small of a piece away after one use, the half bar that it comes like i would use twice

I reuse mine alot. THink about it like this, you use the clay bar to remove contaminents off the surface. As you remove them they build up in the clay. The point of the clay is to capture the contaminent and contain it within itself. So as you are removing the clay in absorbing sap, paint, tar, etc... As you fold and mead the clay, it still has the junk in it. Even a dirty clay bar can make alot of headway on a surface that is in need of help. Clays expensive, and buyin as much as I do, I know how long it will go before it is wasted.

I've always wondered if they is a cheaper alternative such as buying a big block of some other type of clay and cutting off chunks of it to use. What's so special about the type of clay you buy for detailing cars/trucks?
