This is why I hate Spring

That's pollen folks.. Lots of it.. My entire truck is nice and green. The light sprinkling we got yesterday was enough to wash it off and leave me truck looking fairly nice. But then last night and this morning the wind kicked it up again.

Saturday night I also had about 800 tiny spiders hatch on the hood of my truck. Literally...

Don't feel like you're alone man, NC gets it really bad. All the pine trees seem to open up at once, then continue to flood us with pollen for at least a month. We just had some rain to wash it away, and might be getting some more tonight, but once it stops I'll snag a picture of my hood with a nice yellow/green coating. Ugh.

I hear ya. It's strange seeing my truck look literally Green.. Not a nice forest green like JGGs truck, but a nice bright gay green.

It's bad enough that the pollen covers my truck, house and yard, but I am breathing that stuff!

Eh, as you can see from the picture, I'm a smoker.. Doesn't really bother me.

I did inhale some APC+ doing my frame rails this weekend. That was no fun.

Had to take a break for a while.

So I walked out of the office and the clouds are clearing, the sun is coming out, then I see my truck....

God I hate this stuff, and because of freaking water restrictions, I can't even wash it off! $1000 fine for the first offense!

Grrrrrr

Luckily the cops in my neighborhood are too busy going 80mph down a residential road to worry about water restrictions. I live at the top of the hill and their precint is at the bottom of the hill. (water flows down hill, along with other things.) Haven't heard a peep yet.

That's why you use a synthetic sealer such as NXT when you "wax" your truck...........

NCSU, try some Optimum No Rinse.

I appreciate the tip glc, but I've found that the best thing to do is just wait it out. Trying to keep it clean for the next 4-6 weeks is a losing battle. Once the pollen stops I usually give the truck its first full detail of the year.

NCSU I'm on spring break this week (i'm still in highschool) and i took a trip to Myrtle Beach. It rained the whole time down there and the whole way back. Imagine bugs, pollen, water, and road grime all piled up on my truck from over 6 hours of driving and 4 days of rain. It was embarrasing.. My truck hadn't been that dirty in ages.

So i just got back in from spraying the truck off at the DIY place down the road.. Yep in the dark. But hey, you gotta do what you gotta do.

And more rain in the forecast for Friday!
At least maybe we'll be able to wash our trucks at our houses by summer!

I used to live near the St. Johns River here in Florida. The pollen was HORRIBLE !! Regardless it's been raining every day in Florida and it's not stopping for at least another week.
