I've mastered my wash.. for now

Since I don't have the money for the DP Foam stuff that thump swears by, I've been tinkering with different soaps and combos in the foam gun.

I believe I've found the first of many potentially highly useful wash solutions.

I started out my wash today using the super soap I've been using since I started using the gun. This time I switched to the ratio that RP said was correct. While it did work very well, I felt I could get more out of the gun - like always.

I decided that since I have a surplus of Meg's Gold Class soap lying around, I'd use it instead of my dwindling supply of Super Soap, (which I had already been disappointed by after coating my truck with the stuff... again..)

I mixed 4 table spoons of it into my foam gun canister - along with 4 table spoons of XFD. I followed the same ratio in a wash bucket.

Upon first shooting the truck, I was already pretty amazed - the stuff looked slick.

I then grabbed my wash mitt which had been soaking in the wash bucket. It was coated beyond belief. I've never before seen my wash mitt look so sudsy and beautiful.

I began to wash the truck, and felt my shorts grow smaller. It was the smoothest, sudsiest wash I've ever seen. It was amazing. Upon rinsing, I realized that not only was my wash super slick, it seemed to sheet like crazy. I only used 2 waffle weaves this go around and even had enough towel left to dry the windows before using stoner's.

I'm not sure if this has any ill effects towards the paint, but from what I could tell, it didn't. I definitely recommend this combo, pending the approval of the car wash chemical gurus (RP, *cough*.)

Any chance you have info on your gun? Model, price, where you got it etc?

Also, what's that second product you used? (Never heard of it).

Pics would be lovely too, I am looking to find a "sud gun" solution and I am very interested!

I've got the Gilmour Foam master from ADS.

XFD is Xtreem Final Detail - It's a quick detailer. Super slick might I add.

Edit: I'll probably wash the truck again this weekend, or my brother's car.. Maybe even my mom's car. Hell, my girlfriend's car needs a good cleaning too. I'll be sure to snap some photos of the suds and the mitts.

As I haven't tried the DP soap yet, I have no means of comparison.

I'm pretty darn pleased with the lubricity of my combo though.

I swear the DP soap smells like a people shampoo. Its minty smelling. Anyone ever tried doing this? And by this I mean using their shampoo to wash a car?

I hear ya RP.. Seriously though, try it out. I promise you won't hate it, and it's only a small amount of QD even if you think it's a waste. I'd like someone more knowledgeable than me to say whether it's retarded or not.
