Thanks Patrick, but I figured it out and painted it back when this was being discussed. It still looks good.

My cowling looks horrible and the rubber end pieces are cracking off, one is gone completely. Hail and Texas heat do wonders on that stuff.

Whatever company supplied those rubber parts needs to be put out of business.

That's about what my cowling looks like right now. May have to remove it and do the painting thing. Would like to hear from NCSU on how his is holding up.

It's still holding up well. I'll take photo's this weekend (truck is in dire need of a washing) so you can see what it looks like now. A little bit of paint has peeled off the rubber parts at the tips of the cowl.

Looks good.

I just cleaned mine with Simple Green cut 4:1 with a coarse hair/wire brush then let them air dry, after that i put on 3 coats of Fusion Satin Black and one coat of automotive clear. That was over a year and a half ago and they are still as black as the day i painted them. I did the bed rails and tailgate cap as well I doubt you will have any problems NCSU

So much knowledge here...too bad more don't use search.

If you think it....somebody already did it and posted how....sometimes, many times and many ways.
