best polish for chrome wheels?

best polish for chrome wheels?

whats the best polish for chrome wheels....right now i have mothers chrome polish in that little red bottle. is there anything else better that will bring up a better shine in chrome wheels?

also...say i stick with mothers chrome polish.....after ive polished them should i throw some wax on them? and if so what wax is the best to use for chrome

Yes, use a wheel sealant like PB sells or use a synthetic wax like NXT.

can i use my carnauba wax that i have at home already? would that work fine or should i go buy something else

No a carnuba won't stand up to the high heat.

Like Dan said, make sure they aren't clear coated.

well how can i make sure they aren't clear coated? i've read many other places on the net that its fine if they are clear coated.

also thumper if i go buy NXT today which one should i buy whats it called exactly? is it the spray wax? tech wax? tech wax paste?

I use the one in the middle, it's personal preference though.

what about neverdull how does that stuff work for chrome wheels can i use that ive tried it before on my other chrome wheels it keeps them shining and pretty easy to clean up the next time also like theres a layer of protectant on them or something.

You cant use metal polish on clear coated wheels. Rub the metal polish on a small spot on the wheel. If the applicator turns black then they are not clear coated and its safe to use the metal polish. If the applicator doesnt turn black then they are clear coated and you shouldnt be using a metal polish on them.

100% agreed with Dan here...

If they *ARE NOT* clearcoated, my personal favorite (based upon a recommendation by Boss_429) is Heavy Metal Polish (www.heavymetalpolish.com) (green wadding).

If they *ARE* clearcoated, stick with a decent synthetic and use it frequently.

well i used a neverdull on a little spot and it turned black...and i also used another applicator that came with this other wax i have and it turned black also so i guess im good for now....i just used a little polish and neverdull ...gonna wait till the weather is good again in a few weeks its gonan be raining on and off then ill give it a coat of wax
