w7006, w8006 & w9006 ?'s

Ok here's my story. Im in the process of ordering from ADS but I do have another question.

Before I jump into the professional series line of products I would like to use the rest of my consumer products.

Here's my plan:

1. Was the truck properly
2. Dry the truck Properly.
3. Clay bar the truck Properly

Now here's my catch

4. I would like to use my consumer line Deep Crystal paint cleaner here with the G110
5. Remove the Deep Crystal paint cleaner using the DA
6. Apply my NXT 2.0 Wax using the DA and remove it using the DA

Once these products are all gone then I would like to jump into the professional series. What do you guys think about this process?

W7006: I figured I dont need it now b/c my paint doesnt contain any harsh elements.

W8006: I figured I can use this pad to apply the deep cleaner paint/NXT 2.0 Wax (but I dont know about using it to remove the deep paint cleaner)and I would remove the deep paint cleaner by hand with the help of Quik Detailer.

W9006: I figured that I can use this pad to remove the NXT 2.0 Wax

*** From my understanding the NXT 2.0 is a polish and wax all-in-one ***

Personally I remove products with a quality mf (pakshak, df, etc.) and apply my lsp by hand as well. You will need bonnets to remove the products. You remove the products if you use a da with a bonnet over a 7006 pad. apply most polish and cleaners with 8006 and waxes with 9006. check ads for the bonnets, its like $12 for 6 i think

Not going to agree with the process 100% but given your prerequisite of using DA on everything....

Apply Cleaner with the 8006 and remove it with 7006 (COVERED WITH A MF BONNET).
Apply NXT 2.0 with 9006 and remove it with 7006 (COVERED WITH A MF BONNET).

The only time the Meg's suggests using their 7006 (cutting pad) and the DA is as a firm pad for the MF bonnets to hang on to. None of their polishes recommend that pad.

Anything that is meant for cleaning/swirl removal/etc... go with 8006.
If it's a wax and especially an LSP go with the 9006.

If I were to stray from your prerequisites what I would personally do.

Apply Cleaner with 8006 and remove by hand with good MF towel
Apply NXT with a 9006 or by hand and remove by hand with good MF towel

Last weekend I was playing around my little beater and did a full workup on the paint. LSP I used was NXT 2.0. I decided to give my 7006 and MF bonnets a go round. Took the wax of easily. But I thought it was slower than by hand and actually seemed to have left a slight haze. Not to mention that they load up in a big hurry.

Thanks. I will follow your recommendation. That's what I was looking for. This will be my first time using the DA and I wasnt sure as to what pads to use and how to take off the products.

The 7006 is *not* for use with the DA.

Well, I wasnt going to jump in here because JGG did a GREAT job of answering, and RP's chart is always a crowd pleaser, but I will offer my opinion on the topic just because I am bored...

Although I can understand wanting to use the DA for everything, I wouldnt use it to remove stuff... WAY too easy to jack up the work you just did, not to mention that for removing polishes, you take them off before they dry, thus I usually have a MF in my back pocket ready to remove product as soon as its ready... No time for a pad change, plus that's excessive wear and tear on the velcro.

HOWEVER, I would use the DA in applying the LSP. I used to be all about hand waxing, but it gets it on so thin that removal is SO much easier when applied by hand...

One last comment, I like seeing the clause at the end of the first 3 or so steps: "properly." That tells me you are going to make darn sure you get everythign right... Good plan.

So in other words

use the DA to apply the polish (w8006) - Remove by hand.
use the DA to apply the wax (w9006) - Remove by hand.

Is this is correct? when I remove the polish and wax should I apply quik detailer as I remove either to help with the removal process.

I apply wax by hand and remove everything by hand. No, dont apply QD until the very end, if even then. Some apply at the end of the detail some dont. I like to.

So what do you use your DA for? Just polishes.

It's personal preference. There is only a few waxes that I do by hand, everything else goes on by DA. The NXT will be fine to apply with the DA, just remove it by hand with a quality MF.

I use my DA for polishes, sealants, and some waxes. Also very rarely do I use a QD after a full detail. I really don't find a use for it other than getting rid of the dust which blows off soon as you drive away. I do sometimes like to use a QD after a wash. I'm not too big on QDs though.

Another small suggestion is to print a few of those charts that Brad (RockPick) posted and keep them where you're going to be detailing. It will really help you in the beginning. Eventually you'll be able to remember the information but in the beginning it's a good idea.

I don't use bonnets. I remove everything by hand with Meguiars Supreme Shine MFs.

Why does this post remind me of Silence of the Lambs?

"Its puts the location on the skin"....creepy,

Sorry to be off topic...

Oh and I have never applied an LSP by machine.
