Is this a good wash mitt. I'm looking to but a new wash mitt (maybe a few) from ADS. I'm already at about $300 with products and I want to make sure that I get everything all at once. If you dont recommend this one, than what do you recommend?

Nope. Only my truck. Is that the Sheep skin one? how about the rims. Is there a specific type of mitt I should use to wash my rims?

 

Yes, its the sheepskin one. Made by SM Arnold. To wash the rims I use the sheekpskin mitt, only one that has been used a good many times. After about 10+ washes, I "demote" my mitts, ofcourse I have 15 or so SM Arnold mitts.

 

This is what I use to clean my wheels. I have factory 20's. Is this safe to use?

Thats fine, make sure you wash them first. After you clean them well, put a synthetic coat of wax on, to stick with megs, use NXT 2.0

 

I buy a lot of the Meguiars MF Mitts.

 

Is this correct.

1.Spray the all wheel cleaner on the wheel than hose off.
2.Clean the wheel using the mitt and Meguiars car wash fluid
3.Dry the wheels (how are you guys drying your wheels)
4.Then apply Meguiars NXT 2.0 wax

I didnt know that the NXT wax was safe for our wheels but now I know and I will sure use it b/c I have plenty of it. Do you think that it helps with brake dust (not that I have a lot

Last but not least. I seen in another thread that some recommend SG for cleaning the white lettering on the tires with a nylon brush. Can someone please provide me with a link on the ADS website of this nylon brush so that I can just add it to the basket. Once again Thanks a million.

If you're going to be waxing the wheels, I'd have to say don't use the SG. It will strip the wax even diluted. I'd use your soap and water from washing the wheels and a nylon brush. Just stay ontop of it and it should clean up fine.

Also if you want to get something a little better than the NXT to wax your wheels. Check out Poorboy's Wheel Sealant. I used to be sold on using NXT for your wheels, but after trying out the PB WS, I'm never using anything else on them. I too have a lot of bottles of NXT, oh well.

 

Well I never waxed my factory wheels but it was recommended above by gator. I have no problem doing it but at the same time I need to get my letters back white. So your saying to just take a nylon brush with my Meguiars car wash fluid and clean over the letters. Cool I understand that. In what order should the tire and rim be cleaned

Clean Tire letters first
Clean rim
Apply wax on rim
Apply tire shine on tire (Does Hyper Dressing hold up better on the tire than let's say Meguiars hot shine)

Sounds good, when you get down into that kind of stuff, it's a lot of personal preference. I also wash my wheels and tires before the rest of the vehicle.

Hyperdressing is the best tire dressing IMO. It's got the best look, no sling unless you soak the tire in it, and it's got a lot of other uses. The only thing with tires that have White letters is that you have to just spray the tire dressing instead of using an applicator. Using an applicator always has made the letters white for me. I haven't done them much because I always have the White letters on the inside.

 

ok cool. So I will spray HD on the tire than wipe it around. What ratio of HD are you using for your tires.

 

Use 4:1, water:hd, let it sit in for about 10 min or so, then blot of excess. Make sure you dont get any on your rim.
