i think i am goin to take the plunge and enter this detailing world.. this is the system i think i am going to use.. ( by hand) all Meguirs products
1. wash,dry 2. Claybar 3. Cleaner 4. polish 5. carnuba or gold class? 6. nxt 2.0???

i know this isnt really extreme detailing but i think it is sufficient for the results i want... tell me what yall think... im not sure on my steps 5 and 6.

1 and 2, yes. Then what I'd do is test an area with the NXT 2.0, if it looks good to you, no need for 3, 4, and 5. If you use carnauba, it goes on top of the NXT, and use pure, not a cleaner/wax.

If the NXT doesn't look good enough after the clay, then do 3 (DC step 1 or Color-X), then NXT, see how that looks. Using DC step 2 polish by hand can be a pain and it doesn't do any correction.

what is a good pure Carunba??? if i decided to go ahead and do all the steps anyway.it wouldnt hurt anything right????

so can i do the 1.claybar 2. DC cleaner 3. NXT 4. Carnuba

so only polish if the paint is really faded and in bad shape??????

o and i have some Megs showroom mirror glaze.. at what stage should i add this.. or is it not necsissary since im doing step 4.

If your paint is faded, you have a big problem. All this work you are doing is only working on the clear coat. You are thinking single stage paint techniques.

I believe Mirror Glaze is a pure polish, if so and you use it, it goes on between the cleaner and the NXT. It certainly can't hurt and it should be better than the DC step 2 polish.

I think one of the carnaubas of choice here that's readily available is Megs #26. Allow the NXT to cure for 12 hours before using it.

I knew what you meant in your first post, but Mirror glaze is a line of products (read: Meguiars Professional Line). The Show Car Glaze (I hope that is the one you meant) is commonly referred to here as #7.

I only say this to alleviate some confusion for others and because it may make more sense now that you see what most of us call it.

BTW-- you have the order spot on. What you left off is the picture taking step before and after
