How do you like the Tropicare QD?

Something is up with Tropi-Care their site has changed and all of a sudden Steve is now overing up other lines.

Wonder what the deal is......

EDIT:

Boss I am a little confused....is this the new QD?

SM calls it a new QD.

RR,

Yes, that's the new QD. Buying it in the concentrated quart is a better deal... it will make a gallon of QD for around $20.

P.S. I haven't tired the Tropicare QD. My understanding is that it is very similar to the Chemical Guys QD... tired that one.

Concured 110%

In all honesty, I wasn't blown away by either (and, yes... they seem nearly identical).

Gip -- you're not supposed to use it as sun tan lotion!

When 2stroked and I got together a couple of weeks ago so that he could prcatice on his technique on my truck we topped the Collinite 845 with the Optimum Spray Wax and it does add some richness and darkening of the color. As mentioned , easy on easy off.

Yep, and a quick 10 to 15 minute application after every wash, or every other wash will keep your vehicle looking like it has been freshly waxed... because it has.

Ordered the Optimum Concentrate to test it out...I had a spare spray bottle so I mixed it up 3:1. Nice smell. (how do they come up with those smells anyway)

Ok, I did a few tests. This is my opinion, I did try to QD the truck, it had some light dust etc...did one panel and decided this wasn't the proper way to use it. At least in my opinion.

My findings. I wouldn't use Optimum Instant Detailer to remove dust per say but it would be great to use after a wash...as Boss indicated. It does lave the surface super slick, very similar to that just after a full detail feel.

What I did after my test panel, I QD'd the truck with my stand by QD, then I went back over it with the Optimum and the results were pretty impressive.

I also think that heat has a little to do with some streaking on the hood. On the QTR panels and tale gate, no streaking at all...but on the hood after driving home from work tonight it did steak a little.

I took some "reflecto shots" just for fun.

Sweet pics RR... and I agree, this is "only" a gloss enhancing QD... and an excellent one at that!

#34 is my go to QD, I will add the Optimum to my process after a wash or after a QD, I think that is a great place to use it and save your #34 for true QD's....

What I did for this test was QD with 34 then use the O-QD.

I wouldn't use the photos as a gauge for the product, those are trick photography reflection shots. Almost any finish will reflect to some degree in the shade.

RR,

#34 is a fine cleaning QD. However, what advantage do you feel that it has over ONR diluted to QD strength, or Spray & Wipe?

P.S... The pics are still nice!

I really do find that #34 helps my surface shine more and adds a little bit more depth.

Boss

I haven't yet used ONR as a QD...I need to get some more spare bottles to give that a try, I mainly use ONR for our camper...that's how I wash it while camping etc. It works great.

As for Spray and Wipe, For some reason I always get streaking with it...it does work really, really well on glass but either I spay too much or it is too streaky.

I asked Steve about it and he did say a little goes a long way...but for me, if I see light dust, i feel more comfortable with a little more product and that is why I use the 34 so much, it goes on and comes off with no streaking no matter how much I spray. I have this fear of using too little product when QD'ing as I have introduced marring that way.

Open for discussion, I have a full gallon of S&W sitting in my garage.
