*UPDATE* Todays Detailing victim: Chevrolet Avalanche

Up for detail tommorow is my GF's sisters BF's truck. Its a 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche. It has 213,000 miles on it. Initial impressions are the paint is in decent condition, there are lots of hard water spotting. Car has been hand washed maybe 4 times and waxed once since purchasing brand new. Main concern was the trim has been faded and is a light greyish color due to sun. Here are the befores, only got a few good ones, I will try to take a few more before I start tommorow. Starting at 8, it should take a good while. The afters are on page 2.

I'll be looking forward to those after pictures. I have faith in your work. It's going to be a fun one, especially since it works construction. I can only imagine what that clay bar is going to look like when you're done with it !!

I don't think anything is going to save that driver's seat.

Good luck.

I detailed an Avalanche last month. It was in about the same condition since the guy owns a ranch. Bring plenty HD.

213k on a 03 is a CRAPLOAD of miles - no wonder the driver's seat looks that bad.

I'd hate to see what that truck would look like if it wasn't a "rock"

Well I just got home. Detail starte at 730 and I finished around 9. I had 2 short breaks for lunch and dinner. The paint was a lot more work than I had originally thought. I restored all the trim with two coats of trim restore (I used 4 bottles) that took about 4 hours alone!!! I tried the least aggresive method with the SSR's and ended up having to use SSR3 with the megs cutting pad on speed 6!!! Yes, it was that bad!! Anyways heres my process with products used. Pics will soon follow. The owner was overtaked with joy. He absolutely loved it. He wants me to wash it every other week with a full detail every other month.
1. Pre soaked the engine with safe-degreaser and apc
2. washe with foam gun and dp soap
3. clayed with megs blue clay and FD
4. restored trim with trim restore (owners main concern taken care of =) )
5. SSR3 with cutting pad
6. SSR2 with polishing pad
7. SSR1 with polishing pad
8. PB professional polish polishing pad
9. EX-P finishing pad
10. Nattys red applie by hand (this stuff is wonderful, taste wise and look wise)
11. headlight restore as well as 3rd brake light
12. glass restore
13. finished up engine with apc and HD
14. dressed wheel wells, wheels, and polished rims
15. polished exhaust with heavy metal polish medium and extra fine
16. finished exhaust with showmans polish
17. #40 on trim
18. QD'd with FD

Interior:
1. APC+ on all plastic parts
2. vacuumed everywhere
3. blue magic carpets
4. leather cpr on seats (owner was extremely happy with these)
5. door jams
6. megs dash foam
Theres probably a few products used here and there Im forgetting.
All in all i was extremely happy with the work. I am completely exhausted now. Owner is happy and wants me back next weekend to do his gf's car (my gf's sister), as well as his trailer that you can see in the before pics. I suppose I will do a write up on that as well, it should be interesting. Comments are welcome and I want to say thanks to JP, Brad, and Boss for all your help over time. Thanks. The pics are next!!
