It's very difficult to do proper correction by hand. I suppose if you want to spend a few DAYS on it you can do it. The only other option that I know of is use products with fillers - but that only hides defects, not corrects them.

I hear ya - I don't have a machine and I do everything by hand too, but I'm not fooling myself - my paint has a lot of defects and I'm not OCD like the true pros here are. I'm happy with the end results using NXT 2.0 as my LSP as it does use fillers. You probably wouldn't be - you seem to be a lot fussier than I am. I could top it with pure carnauba to give it more "pop" but by the time I'm done with the NXT I'm simply too tired to want to do it. I know you are resisting it, but I do feel that you are a candidate for a machine.

My truck is Arizona Beige, by the way.

I have been fairly specific with my questions. I'd like to try some new products on a white vehicle. If there are products someone has used that they would recommend please do so .
I provided you with my suggestions. Post #2. You dismissed GLC'c comments regarding technique. Which is fine and dandy but based on what you wanted in the first post, you want better products. That also fine and dandy but better products doesn't mean much when you don't use proper techniques, proper steps and use proper tools for the results.

If you are so set on doing it by hand, again, use any products you want. The end results are going to be about the same as what you are already doing.

Want some more update info on white rather than sorting through 13 pages of old data where Klasse products were mentioned in a thread?

Try this one. (also sounds like Zaino is what you are looking for)

I had more but lost the links going back and fourth...

Do a search on a member here....MaxTorque02, he has probably the best looking oxford white Navi I have seen yet.

It looks like this...

Again, best of luck.

Let me guess....Conway right?

3rd edit, I know a thing or two about white:

Do a search on Detailing Oxford, or Detiail Oxford, White Detail, etc....

Thanks for the info. Not trying to dismiss anyone's comments or suggestions. Glad to see you didn't take your toys and go home! As GLC posted I may not be happy with results by hand... Not sure. Who knows, I may end up getting a DA, but for now it will be plain old elbow grease.

That Navi looks great. Hope he hasn't slacked off on the detailing to put gas in that thing.

Not Conway, but a good guess. That is a nice area. I'm around the Benton/Bryant area out in the sticks.

I'd buy the DA, it'll be the best investment you've ever made for your vehicle. It's an awesome machine. Trust me.

Should have trusted my gut not to post in the Care and Detailing section. This is going to cost me way more than I wanted to spend!! I'm still fighting the purchase of a DA... Don't know how long that will last though.

It's a good investment. Trust me, I've tried to get surface imperfections out of a F150 by hand and it's not something you'll ever want to do.

I know I'm about to be bashed left and right for even mentioning this but...if you don't want to go and buy a DA, go and buy a $20-30 buffer. It will be slightly better than by hand, at least on steps such as correction....though still far more inferior than a DA. However, I'd suggest doing what I'm in the process of doing....doing everything by hand until enough spare money comes around to buy a Flex.

I've used P21s, IW845, NXT, 4*UPP, Optimum Wax, Natty's Blue and White, Klasse, Duragloss and many more on my white truck. They all look about the same. There are soo many great products out there. Its all about your prep work. Like the others have said, you really need a DA. It will more than pay for itself in the time it saves you. I dont see how I ever did without one. As for a LSP on white I really like P21s because it looks great and it goes on and comes off easy. IW845 is good too and that bottle will last a long time. I just got my can of #16 in today. I might give it a try this weekend. Do a search under my name and you can see some after shots of my white truck.

Alright alright alright. I knew this was going to cost me too much money. After reading a little more and finishing a Megs 3 step on the car I've decided to go with a DA. I'm currently in the process of collecting all my toys before my baby gets here, Aug 14th!! So this is just another thing i'll buy to add to my toy list. I've come to some decisions after reading on here and looking at some of MaxTorque02's posts as suggested by RR.

So far I think I'm going to go with PB's ssr's, vanilla moose, PB's exp, and S100. I still need to do a little more digging to be sure, but I think I'll start there.

As far as the DA goes I've found a PC 7424 for around $106 shipped. I can't find a G100 anywhere; not even on ebay, and I'm not sure I want a G110. Any suggestions on where to buy would help if you know of a place. Then of course I need pads, bonnets etc. Autogeek seems to have a great selection but their prices seem a little high. Where are you DA'ers getting your pads and accessories? Any suggestions are welcome. I'll get back to educating myself on using the DA. Thanks

Excel Detail is a great place to buy from. Patrick is a good guy and the service is great. They have some nice pads for $7.50. I have several of them.

Now you are coming around. We have our second due on July 14th so I know what you are talking about.

Ok, since you are in the buying mood, I do love my Clearcote VHM, but after using PB WD its pretty dam* impressive. Something to consider, it was made for White paints and is a glaze that can be used as a "in between" full details to conceal micro marring.

What is the condition of your paint now? Whit is hard to post photos of so you have to be the best judge sight unseen by the "elders".

A few rules....least aggressive method first. Given that, I would do this:

Wash
Clay
Tape off trim
TEST panel, PB ProPolish (PP) if that doesn't clear your marring or imperfections, stop, and move to the next step:
TEST same panel, SSR1. Probably have to do 2 passes with it.
Then whole truck with SSR1
Then polish down the SSR1 if needed (Pending your pad choice here)
Go back to the PB PP whole truck
PB WD, do whole truck wait for product to haze, then remove.
PB EX-P wait an hour, have a beer
LSP, C845 or your fav LSP, (Other good choices, Nattys Blue or White), Megs 16, Megs 26.

Remove tape, QD with some XTream FD or #34 or Optimum IDGE or PB QD+

Both are amazing.

You appear to be a tad knowledgeable, per my smart *** comment, so maybe skip the DA and jump to a Flex. Just a thought since you said you are trying to acquire some new toys. That is one you won't want to be without.

Caveats to my post.
Using SSR's. Least aggressive first. If SSR1 doesn't get the cut you need, go to SSR2. SSR2.5 and SSR3 should only be used if heavy cut is needed. Once used they shouldn't be needed again unless you use your truck to plow new paths to turkey or deer hunt

Using anything with cut in it is also dependent on pad choice. Another set of "search" feature packed threads. This is a personal choice but i am a Lake Country pad fan...

This is my last post in your thread.

Sorry for the edit, my daughter needed to be put to bed....

Noticed you said, S100, great product as long as you know that it has about a 90 day life pending how you store your truck. Less if not garaged more if garaged. S100 seems to do better on darker colors by my experience.
Wifes hood after SSR1, PB PP, WD and EX-P, with Nattys White

I have to admit this is for my car... of course I will use it on the truck as well. The truck is really the wife's ride! The car is an 03, but the paint is excellent. It is always garaged and never sits out in weather; either at home or work. I'm pretty sure from reading on here the SSR1 should do the trick. There are a couple spots here and there on the paint but no bad swirls or marring.

As far as the flex goes... it would be nice! But I'll stick with a DA for now. The price difference could get me quite a few pads and accessories for the 7424. Since I'm having the windows tinted and a new clear bra put on tomorrow as well as bought a few new guns lately. I really shouldn't buy the DA, but who am I kidding. It will cut down on my Polishing/Waxing time and give me better results. It's a win win.

Now I just have to piece together all my detailing items and figure out where it's all coming from. Keep on posting RR and I'll keep reading.

What pads are you going to go with? I would check out Lakes, and get the entire set from Top of the Line. Like I said earlier, Irene there is great to work with and she is "local" to you. Hacket is just south of FS about 15 min or so. Best way to get lake pads is get the full set, but know that they white pad is the "work horse" pad.

If you visit the detail dictionary you'll see a great break down of the LC pads.

You're in Bauxite aren't you?

Since you are in AR, you should consider getting your PB products from Scott down at Specialty Motoring in Houston. You will get the product in 2 days. Scott is a nice guy, you'll like chatting with him.
