NXT vs NXT 2.0

1. I did a search for topics on this but didnt come across anything. I'm getting ready to order from ADS and I have a few questions. I barely drive my truck but Im always detailing it. I have a full bottle of NXT wax that I've been using but I'm going to buy Final Inspection from ADS (Thumper's recommendation) so I figured I would see what else I should buy. My question is can I just keep using the regular NXT wax that I have until its all gone, or scrap NXT and buy NXT 2.0 or something else like #16 or #26. What is the difference in NXT vs NXT 2.0. As of right now im looking to stick with Meg products until I get this whole thing down pack. Thanks

2. Also will the clay bar remove old wax.

Below are the steps that I use as of right now to detail my truck

Proper wash and dry
Clay bar
Megs Deep paint cleanser
NXT wax
Done (besides dressing, HD,etc.)

A rep at Meg stated that this would be good for me b/c NXT I guess can be a wax and polish combined so I can skip the polish step.

Remeber these steps are what I use as of right now until I get it down packed
Also will the clay bar remove old wax.

1. You'll love #34
2. Get some hyper-dressing if you dont have any.
3. The only difference between NXT and NXT 2.0 is (according to the megs forums) the durability and water beeding action. 2.0 Beads better and last longer.

4. Pick up #16 if you can, if not #26.. And use these products 12 hrs after you apply the NXT for a deeper, wetter, more even shine.

Hope i helped!

I honestly don't have any idea what the difference is. My best guess is that one can handle higher speeds on a DA? That is a totally random guess, so pretty much disregard it.
But you said maybe get #16. Where are you getting #16, I have heard such great things about it, and I am dieing to get my hands on some and try it out.

Pick up some APC+ and Hyperdressing if you don't have any. By the way, #34 is awesome !!

NXT 1.0 vs 2.0 is just the new formulation. 2.0 lasts longer, beads up better, and has less of that saran wrap type of look to it. I still find it has some but it's definitely a lot better. If you were going to buy NXT 2.0, I'd just go ahead and buy #21, it's basically the same thing.

I really think your color would benefit from doing a layer of NXT or #21 topped with a pure carnuba like #26 or #16 among other waxes. It's going to get rid of that saran wrap effect, the paint will look deeper and wetter, etc. #26 or Meguiars Gold Class does not have nearly the durability of NXT or #21 but it does look better. I'd try it out and see how you like it. #16 on the other hand is an amazing product but you'll have to order it from Canada as of right now. #16 looks better than #26 and lasts a lot longer. The only thing that I hate about #16 is that you have to apply it thin. If you don't apply it thin you'll be hating your life.

If you want, get on AIM.

Thump you already know that I own HD and APC+. Im going to order #34 final inspection today from Rick but I wanted to know what else I should get b4 placing the order. Let me make sure that I got this correct.

Your saying this

Proper wash and dry.
Clay Bar
Deep paint cleaner (b/c I have a whole bottle to get rid of)
wax (NXT or NXT2.0)
#26 (simply b/c im in a rush to order and I cant wait for 16 from Canada)

Is this correct? If so once Im done with NXT how long should I wait be applying #26?

That procedure sounds good. NXT or #21 needs 10-12 hours of cure time before topping it with the #26. What kind of mitt are you using by the way?

I got my #16 in maybe 1-2 days longer than my order from ADS, which was already very quick. Ordered monday morning and was in by noon Thursday.

From what others have told me, let the NXT cure for about 12 hours.

I have this really soft microfiber mitt that I bought from Autozone and I love it. I also have some other mitts that I bought (still in the package) from ADS that I havent tried yet, well one of them I did. Does this sound right

wax truck
remove wax
let truck sit for about 12 hours
apply #26
Remove # 26.

If this is correct what are you doing to remove the dust from the NXT that will accumulate during the 12 hour sit time.

Remember Im doing all this by hand if it makes a difference b/c I havent purchased my DA yet.

Also do you think that I will need a gallon of #26? Im thinking more like the 16oz bottle. I take it that the 16oz size is a liquid not a paste.

Clay does remove wax.

If you need to remove dust after the 12 hour cure, you can either wash the truck or use a quick detailer carefully.

I wouldn't buy the gallon. I'd buy the 16oz bottle.

I didn't even see that question in the OP. Yes, clay will remove wax.

Meguiars Hi-Tech Yellow Wax 16 oz
Item # M2616 $10.99 USD

I'd buy a gallon of #34 but instead of buying that bottle, buy the 16 oz bottle. It comes with a sprayer and some #34. This is what I did and now I just refill the bottle when it's empty.
