Might bring my shop into a detail shop..

I have a TON of small chips in my front bumper area... probably 20-30 of them all very small. I wanted to have the body shop re-paint my bumper because it was just in getting painted due to the fact that I was hit, but they wanted $600 to repaint it. If I take my truck to a detail shop, is this something they can fix? If so, how much do you think its going to cost me? Am I better off having it repainted? I bought some Langka Paint Chip Repair but have yet to use it as well...

I agree with Dan. Some of those chip-fix spots may be able to make it look better but, if it's bothering to you, it's likely that you're also going to notice the 'chip fix' guys' work as it doesn't provide a perfect look.

For a one'zy - two'zy type of scenario, they might be a good way to go but, for that many, I'm with Dan -- it's respray time if you're serious about it.

And I agree with both of these guys, and will add that you might want to look into some protection for that front bumper if it's damaged to the point that your considering a respray after only a year.

Your going to be better off repainting it. I've been thinking of doing the same to my truck my front bumper and hood have 20 plus chips. I've also been looking into a clear bra or something to protect the front end a little after the repaint.

Painting it sounds like the only option. After the paint is cured for 90 days than get some 3M Clear Bra. It's some good stuff.

$600 just to paint a single bumper? Wow... I'm in the wrong business!

I agree that's nuts. Just for example, Roush only charges $300 for a front bumper cover on a Mustang. The quality is amazing. I've got a place around here that will paint a bumper cover for $100 but the quality isn't going to be that great.

Yes that stuff is awesome. My dad swears by that stuff and if you apply it right it lasts for a good while.
