Exhaust Tip Polishing

My exhaust tips were in real bad shape with rust all over them. I went to an exhaust shop to get them replaced but they did not have the tips I wanted. I spoke with a guy that does a lot of detailing and he recommended a product called Flitz. I tried it and have to say I'm really impressed. I will post pictures as soon as I finish with the polishing.

Heavy Metal Polish makes some really nice polishes. I'd check into them, it'd work a lot better than Flitz.

Another product that's been recommended here is the Diamond Brite toolbox polish that they sell at Lowe's over by the truck boxes. It's supposed to work real well with a mini powerball.

I purchased the Flitz at a very popular Marine store here in NJ, but can't remember the name.* As soon as I do, I'll post the name.

Here are some pictures of how it looked before and after. It started raining so I had to stop. I'm going to redo them again next weekend. The tips looked a lot worse than what they look on the first picture. I'm very happy I was able to salvage them.

Yea it does look very good but, I still see maybe some little rust spots left on the tip. I have always used a product called Never Dull You can buy it at Walmart in the hardware section. It will take all the rust spots off and polish it to a brand new finish as well! BTW it is very inexpensive and it goes a long way.

Me no expert but I've tried and been using Megs NXT Metal Polish and I'm satisfied.

Never Dull is some pretty decent stuff if you want something to get OTC. If you want to order something, I've never seen it in stores, order some Heavy Metal Polish. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. I bought some a long time ago to polish up a set of tips and wheels and it worked amazing. I highly recommend it !!
