PB's Black Hole

OK, this is kind of a dumb question. What pad (I have LC CCS pads) should I use and what speed on the g100 to apply Black Hole? Like, I know with 80, you start low to spread it, then work it in around speed 5. Is Black Hole the same, or what? Thanks in advance!

I do not use LC CCS pads so I will not comment. I apply Poorboy's Black Hole to the pad, rub it across the paint without the machine on, this reduces the chance of sling. Than I'll work the product on speed three. I'm guessing this is your first time using Poorboy's Black Hole? If so, you'll love it. It's an awesome product, removal is easy as pie and it smells great, not to mention it looks amazing !!

yeah, it's my first time using it. My first time outside the Meguiar's bubble actually. I'm going to give it a shot, the concept of it seems great, and i'm hopeing it will live up to it's name. Assuming you use Meg's pads thump, 8006 or 9006 to apply?

I actually had to confirm with Dan on this to make sure before I went ahead and gave you the advice. Use the finishing pad, something with no cut, basically.

yep. I'm a little nervous because it will be my first time working on SS. I'm going to try colorX first because the car has been garage kept all of it's life. If not, then i'll probably try 80.

Shoot-- Color-X was originally designed for SS paint... GREAT STUFF! Also, #80 works wonders on SS paint (search out my Mercedes detail...)

Additionally, #7 was designed for use with SS paint-- sort of re-oiling process from what I understand. Megs made a few minor adjustments to make it work alright with Clearcoated finishes, which explains why there isnt a whole heck of a lot of an advantage to useing it on a dual stage paint... A little is there because of the oily glaze that is left behind, but it better be what you are looking for in order to make it worth the time.

A trewnd that is starting to move over here to the States (thanks to Dan and others like him that study European detailing) is the 50/50 alcohol+water wipedown. It removes all the masking stuff and oils which arent necessary for a dual stage paint...

Okay... I am rambling on and starting to take a tangent that is a bit OT... Sorry

For BC/CC paints, something like M03 or M82 generally "work" better (easier?) than M07, since as pointed out, was originally made for SS paint.
