Finally gonna do it
Well, i've been reading up on this forum several times a day since i bought my new truck, have posted a few times with a few small questions, but nothing much.
well, after much delay, i have finally decided to buy a DA. i'm going to go with the 7424 from autogeek. this package http://autogeek.net/hk7424.html. i have a '08 F-150 FX-4 scab, white with grey. the paint is still in very good condition, with only minor swirling and no visual scratches. here is what i plan to do once i get the DA:
1. wash with gold class/arnolds wool mitt/two bucket with grit guard
2. Dry with waffle weave and compressed air
3. clay with megs clay kit
4. White Daimond applied with DA, removed with quality MF
5. NXT 2.0 liquid applied by DA, removed with quality MF
5. #26 applied by DA, removed with quality MF
6. Stoners on all glass followed by rainx
7. gold class vinyl and rubber protectant on all external and internal vinyl/plastic
here are the few questions i have:
1. do i need another correction/polish step between claying and the White daimond (#80?)?
2. which pads should i use for each step that i use the DA? there seems to be very little difference between the white/grey/blue..
thanks in advance for all the advice and help!!

Is it completely true that if you apply 26 after NXT or 21 that it will wipe away all of the NXT or 21 (synthetic wax). I am not really trying to question you f150sport, but I thought that it just doesn't give the synthetic wax the proper time to completely cure thus less protection if you apply the carnauba wax earlier than 12 hours.

i have used rain-x for years on my vehicles, long before i ever got into even remotely detailing them. i personally LOVE the stuff. i usually put on two coats after a thorough cleaning.
as for my step list, i'm starting to lean against going with the #26, and have the nxt 2.0 be my LSP. have read some stuff recently that, even with letting the synthetic cure for 12 hours, still not getting a ton of benefit from the "wax" over the top. this is of course me just going off of what a few expert detailers have said, no personal experience at all. and really, i dont mind the looks of nxt 2.0 at all, so shouldnt be a huge difference leaving the #26 out. we'll soon find out. my order from AG is supposed to be in on friday......
