Drying techniques

I know... I'm full of questions!

SO, what are you guys using to dry your cars off with? I've been using the California Water Blade and Meguiars thin chamois like micro-fiber drying towel. Is there a better towel or method to use that prevents swirls and such?

Try using a leaf blower. I hear that works really well. Also the microfiber drying towels do a good job, supposedly better than a chamois with less scratching. ADS has a killer sale right now on the drying towels.

I use the sheeting action from a hose with no nozzle on the end, top to bottom. Then 100% cotton towels, washed with no detergent and dried with no dryer sheets and beaten with dryer ***** to soften them up. I use a huge one to go over and get all the loose water and large spots, followed by another good sized one to go over it all. Then for the doors and sills I use the wet towel to wipe them down and the dry towel to finish.

Sometimes will get the air compressor out too but havent had the best luck with that yet.

No....! Don't use a gas powered blower... unless you like oil all over your truck.

I have an Echo gas blower and have been fortunate not to get any oil on the paint

The water blade can scratch and mar the finish if you aren't careful.

Sheeting, waffle weave drying towel from ADS for all the main panels including glass. Absorber for the lower rocker panel sections, fender lips, step bars, etc. 2nd Absorber for the Bak Flip Tonneau. 3rd Absorber for the wheels and tips. Pretty much it for me.

I just wanted to dust this thread off because I was washing my car today and wondered hmmm... I wonder if the electric leaf blower I left sitting in my driveway would dry my car. Turns out it did an awsome job. No water spots plus I am always paranoid about drying the car and scratches, not so worried now.
