Wash and give it a quick detail?

I don't think there is a definitive answer to the question. I'd assume that if you garage the car, and wash and quick detail it every week, it's bound to last longer than someone who only washes once a month.

There's no good anwer to that one, bud. Unfortunately, all kinds of things will play into the overall 'feel' of the paint...

BTW, when you're washing, what are you using from a chemical perspective?

The correct way to maintain a NXT job is this:

1. Wash with good soap. I recommend Megs Gold Class.
2. Use a good lambswool mitt.
3. Dry by blotting (not wiping) with a microfiber towel.
4. Use Megs Ultimate Quick Detailer after the wash job.

When you redo it, use a clay bar kit first.

glc is right with everything he said.
Definitely use Megs Ultimate Quick Detailer every other wash and you will maintain that slick feel.

Maybe that wash you got from the auto store has some stripping capabilities. Switch to Gold Class

A decent alternative to Gold Class wash is NXT wash, it depends on what you can readily find.

If you want to use the Absorber, blot with it, don't wipe. You will need quality microfibers to use with clay, to remove the NXT, and to use with the UQD. The only cheapies I'd trust are the ones at Sam's and Costco.

The UQD is the trick - not only does it remove any residue that's left, it boosts the polymer protection.

I use the Absorber but there are a lot of people that don't like them.

I'm begining to wonder if environmental and/or sun exposure or something is affecting the durability of NXT 2.0. Even with all the rave reviews I have very poor outcomes from the vehicles I've tried it on. Did a lincoln towncar a while back, gold class wash, claybar, Meg's #9 topped with NXT 2.0. Beading was all but gone after a month. (of course that also opens up the can of worms that a wax doesn't have to bead to still be protecting, etc...)

The beading will come back if you hit it with UQD.

This brings up the argument of whether the beading is from the UQD itself or the wax.

Not directed toward you, but I have trouble believing that UQD "can bring NXT 2.0 back to life" like I have heard in the past.

Here's a old video of UQD when it was still in the testing stages. This shows what it does on a panel with no other products on it.

ULTIMATE QUIK DETAILER®

The most advanced high bead and deep gloss spray detailer! Meguiar’s®, the company that brought car enthusiasts the world’s first spray detailer, now introduces a revolutionary mist and wipe product that works like a spray detailer and enhances wax protection. This totally unique formula represents a significant breakthrough in technology that has even our eyes popping! Through the use of new Hydrophobic Polymer Technology™, Meguiar’s has created a spray detailer that actually repels water, withstands multiple car washes, and adds additional protection to your finish. The secret lies in the high level of surface tension created when these revolutionary polymers react. The result is a slicker, darker surface and incredible water beading! You will feel your towel almost float across the surface. The gentle, high lubricity formula is safe on all paint types including the latest clear coats and can be used daily to remove loose contaminants, dust and grime to keep your car looking its absolute best. It’s so easy, you can detail a full size car in less than 10 minutes!
Marketing hype or not, there has to be something to it. It's not particularly cheap either.

I agree it works. It seems to be similar to spray waxes, yet it beads better and when wiping off, contributes almost no smearing that the spray waxes add
