Black Truck Detail price?
Okay, I'm curious what it would cost to get a nice detail done on my 2008 F-150 supercrew by taking it to a decent detailing shop? I know most of you guys here DIY, but I just don't have the time to go out and buy all the supplies and equipment. After 6 months, my paint still looks pretty good without any obvious swirls, but black trucks seem to be infamous with swirls and I'm sure mine will look the same with the basic care I provide.
Anywho, aside from all that, how much do you guys think I should expect detailing shops charge for a paint detail? I'm not concerned with trim, wheels or tires - just the paint, buffing, waxing, whatever is done.

I own my own Mobile car wash and detailing company here in Los Angeles, For a truck like yours, a hand wax, tires dressing, interior and exterior dressings, shampooing your carpets, remove all water spots etc. i charge more or less 180 depending on how much work the truck needs. Just an estimate but then again i do come to ppl houses so the service charge is included int he price

gotcha.. well honestly, the price I was looking for would be for what it would cost to fix a black truck with swirls, spider webs, or whatever you guys call em nowadays using a DA or rotary. I'm assuming most professional detailing shops would use a rotary being that it's a bit more effective in experienced hands.

There is a difference in covering micro marring and spiderwebbing and correcting them. Some can do it, most cannot.
You get what you pay for just like anything else. Don't let the shiny in the shade reflecto shots fool you. Dare I say, "lipstick on a pig"

RollingRock I'm in Victoria, it's about 2 hours southwest of Houston 30min from the coast. I take pretty decent care of the paint and I can handle a basic wash and wax. I'm more concerned with a corrective detail kinda like what hwm3 is doing the Black suburban in his post.

How much would it generally cost to go from the before/after on a paint job that bad? I suppose I'll go post and ask him, but I didn't wanna hijack his thread.. lol

Like you they are both kind of recovering from Ike but if you can wait a bit, I am sure they would like to help you out.
