New 2009 Meguiars products Announced

Just a heads up Megs just revealed their 2009 line. Some notable changes are new formulation M105 now officially DA approved., New M205 (Mike Phillips raved about this product a couple of weeks ago when I was at Megs advanced class). Scratch X 2.0.

Major difference is in technology. Previous compounds had to be broken down for a swirl free finish. New technology is micro abrasive that does not break down. Check the Megs site for a better description.

I am curious to try the M205.

Did you get the opportunity to tinkner with the M205? I'm assuming that 205 is a rotary-only product, maybe?

105 is fantastic stuff... I have a ways to go before I'll need the 2.0 version but, it really is a solid product.

I dont have swirls as of now (thank god) but I would like to try the Swirl X. How would you implement it in to your detail

Wash
Dry
Clay
Swirl X or Megs Deep paint cleaner (are these two the same)

Good stuff, most that know me know I am not a fan of Megs products outside the core stuff like APC+, #34, HD etc but megs hit an absolute home run with 105...it is one of my best products I've used.

One of the best products Megs has put out. some say it was a product made by accident...it can be used by hand or my machine,

It finishes well....pending how you do use it, you could top it with your fav LSP after using it.

yes that is my tail gate...it took a beating over the past 90 days...

to this

Poor examples but let me tell you it takes a ton to impress me but this is a great product.

Don't just listen to me, several members at TDC also rave about its capabilities.

It is a correction product and I would only use it for moderate or severe micro marring etc.

That said

Wash
Dry
Clay (Proper prep is always key)
M105
The next steps are dependant on what mechanimism you use...there are many factors here. By hand, machine? If by machine, pad product combo? Level of correction etc.

Next steps after M105
Its possible to go right to LSP or
Seal then LSP
or

Burnish then seal then LSP

Lots of options can be used with M105...but also there are many what if factors in play.

just giving you my .02

Did not get to play with it. They had it under wraps. Mike Phillips used it on his car and said it is his "Go to product going forward because it's that good" Rick at ADS said similar. Rick had a chance to play with it on Friday. The new M105 and M205 are hand, D/A or rotary due to the new micro abrasive technology.

There is quite a bit of conversation on megs online about differences and applications etc...

OH MY GOD... I need 105 now, especially if it is DA friendly. Before I saw these pics, I thought that my truck needed real help. #80 just wasn't cutting it. Thanks guys.

I'll throw my .02 in there for 105. I used it for the first time on my severely neglected roof of my Expedition. I used a 4" orangle pad on a 7424 and got amazing results. It still needs a bit of work, but the difference it made in one pass was almost LSP ready. I had just run out of time and light.
