wheel question

I have a 06 f150 lariat with the chrome package. Almost all of my rims have that center stainless steal caps. They must've gotten water underneath the seal it almost looks like gum. I was wondering if this is still covered under the corrosion waranty?

This seems simple but, if they are stainless steel caps, why not simply remove them, and clean them off inside and out?

yes i know i can take them off and clean them but it seems that they have been getting water beneath the seal. But if it covered under fords corrosion warranty then i can get them replaced for free.

Are you talking about the center caps? If so they aren't meant to be water proof, just kinda there to keep the majority of crap off your lug nuts like mud and stuff. (oh and to look good too)

Water will get in the center caps, those caps are plastic too I believe.

Your center caps are plastic, not stainless steel. Therefore, they will not "rust" and they woundn't be covered under the corrosion warranty. As for water getting behind the caps, that's completely normal because they are not sealed - nor would you want them to be.
