Cleaning my black wheels ???

I love the finish on my satin black, Pro Comp 7089's
http://www.procomptires.com/pxa7089.html
They call them "Cast Blast".... so would this be powder coated ???

Anyway, yesterday I noticed that the front ones were getting some red/ brown looking build up on them (rusting brake dust ?) And it did not just wipe off with my damp, drying towel.

Hmmmm. I thought about spraying some ammonia free Windex on them..... But with that satin finish, it's kind of like whatever you spray on them, is going to be somewhat soaked up..... which is kind of spooky to me.

Any suggestion on something that is safe for the wheels, works well, and can be bought locally ???

Thanks,
Fish

Have you tried straight up just soap and water? The only wheel's i've ever come across I couldn't wash clean with just a junk mitt and soap/water was my fiance's Audi that i swear hadn't been washed for months (before she bought it and the dealership didn't bother washing it). I would actually just suggest Dawn for the wheels.

Hey guitarman....

this might sound kind of goofy, especially as often as I have been washing my truck... But no. Most of my washes have been the touchless pressure spray type. I guess the old soap and water trick might be something to try :-)
I was just thinking about something to spray and wipe....

Peace,
Fish

Find out exactly what the finish is - maybe ask the manufacturer?

Then use a wheel cleaner that's safe for that type wheel.

After rereading that today, I didn't mean to sound like a butt. I was just generally asking if you had tried that (I know i've been asked local what to use and they've never even tried just soap and water).

Hey Guitarman....

No, you didn't sound that way at all. Like I said, no, I hadn't tried just soap and water either ! Doh ! :-) {well, by hand brush I mean}

Peace,
Fish
