Rubbing Compund Reccomendations

So... I decided to fix a 1.5 inch diameter paint blister (bubble) on my rear bumper. I spot puttied, primed and repainted the small section. Now that a week that has gone by and waiting for the paint to cure, I'm ready to blend in the new paint with the surrounding old. Can anyone suggest a good over-the-counter rubbing compound/ polish to use here? Sandpaper perhaps? How about some tips using a d/a, rotary, or hand? Thanks.

Since your spot is a bit bigger, the eraser trick might be a bit too small but the same concept is still there.
