keeping chrome tips clean

I may be in the wrong area but i just got my 4 inch tips installed a couple months ago and the inside of them are already showing a rusty color. i know its from the cold starts in the morning with condensation. i didnt think i would have much of a problem cause i live out in the country and once i start it up and let it idle down im up to 70 mph and figured it wouldnt hold the water in the tips

Thats just the truck. The exhaust spits out a lot of water all the time. I drive crown victorias at work and hot or cold they spit out water all the time. Just have to deal with it. My tips have been on my truck for six years and have not rusted out yet. Just part of it so dont worry.

Spray the inside with a rust converter/primer, then spray it with some high temp. black paint.

Go pick up a can of Nevrdull metal polish (that is spelled correctly). It will remove surface rust, stains, tar, bugs and just about anything you can get on your tips. It will leave a great shine too. It also works well on the chrome bumpers.
