Can you get pictures of the scratches in direct sunlight? You may only be able to do so much by hand before you have to use a machine depending on how deep the scratches are. There are some pretty knowledgable detailers on here that can help you if you get pictures. Have you tried Megs Scratch X 2.0 on the scratches? If not I would try that before I try anything else and follow the instructions on the bottle and put some grunt behind it when you are rubbing with the Scratch X.

You would have to use either a PC7424, Flex, or a rotory with the correct pads and polishes to correct deep scratches in the clear because a Wal Mart buffer does not have the speed or the power to do major paint correction work.

Can you get some pics in direct sun for the elders to look at and offer some advice on how to correct the problem? I have offered about as much advice as I am comfortable giving with my limited knowledge.

Without pictures it is hard to tell what you need done. Can you feel any of them with your fingernail? If so, you are through the clear and you can't do much.
A complete shot in the dark because of no pictures, but I would recommend using Megs 105 followed by 205 on a G110 most likely using polishing pads. They work as a really great combo for some serious paint problems however I don't know how bad yours actually are. You may just need to use only 205.

The PC 7424, G110, and the Flex are Dual Action Buffers so what you said didn't make much sense as a reply to dlsipe1. A random orbital buffer from walmart will not work. However I wouldn't use the turtle wax stuff you have been using with a DA.
