Black Wowing the Cowling Trim

What have you guys been using to get Black Wow in all the hundreds of little waffley water traps on the F-150 cowl? I tried a foam brush but it didn't really work.

I ended up using a soft bristle toothbrush to get in all the nooks, crannies and corners. It took quite a bit of product using this method but it worked better than anything else I tried. Still took a long time. Ford didn't have a better idea on this cowl, a real pain to dry off and detail.

Black Wow's amazing stuff, been almost 2 months now and still looks great.

Some people have been painting the cowls with Krylon fusion paint.

Sometimes it's easier to remove it put on your workbench and do the detail work needed then put back on the truck.

Another method is to life the hood and work from the engine bay area.

Ya'll still didn't say what you used to get the product into all the little corners. Good idea on removing the piece to work on it.

Using BW what I do is cut a small piece off a old foam applicator or use a small detail brush.

Maybe I don't understand what you are talking about b/c I can get to every part of my cowl. Got a pic of the areas you are trying to dress?

Waffely water traps? Haha. I'm guesing the cowl is different on the newer trucks then. My Expedition has lines/channels that are annoying but easy to get at with an applicator. Q-tips? That'll only take forever.

yup, I use the detailing q-tips as well as the detailing foam applicators and the cut up foam pads.

Works for me.
