http://www.autogeek.net/hk7424.html you dont need a carpet steamer/ or you can rent one. This would take care of the DA, now some #80 or #205 then a polish and wax/sealer. I also stated basicly. So for $250 he can definitly see if hes able to do this himself.

$250 should cut it but it will be close like you said. I think the basic DA package is like $150 and that comes with 1 polishing and 1 finishing pad. What carpet steamers are you guys using or should I say what type of machine are you guys using to clean really bad carpets.

True, I agree with you that he'd be pushing it to get it all for $250. But what about the next time he wants it detailed? More than likely if he goes back to the guy and spends another $250 he will kick himself for not getting the stuff to start with. You're up to $500 then. And every detail after that tacks on even more. I think you'd be saving money by time you get a second detail. This being the case he's much better off buying the stuff to start with so he has it all readily available.

I just dropped a little over $500 on detailing supplies, including a DA, from ads. I can't wait til they come in and try out my first detailing experience ever. I have plenty of time since I only work 7 days a month on average.

I've just recently gotten into detailing but I find it relaxing. Good way to spend some free time.
x2, I find it very therapudic to work on my truck. I will be investing in my own tools whenever the winter ends.. which looking outside, It will probably be May

I sat and watched the guy for alittle bit and he clayed the whole truck and when it was finished he got most all the scratches out and ALL the swerl marks. The truck looked AMAZING! They spent about 3 1/2 hours on it thought that was really good for the price. here's there website www.heritagecarwash.com
I've redone one of their "full details"

My neighbors kid goes to UNT, she paid the same price then had me fix it. Felt sorry for her. Hope yours is much better.
