cleaning plastic top of bedside

I can't get the plastic clean up there. I used some paint prep wax and grease remover. I thought it would strip it of whatever was on it. then i was using mothers back to black. it still has some white stuff i can't get off. It cleaned off my handles and everything else but it won't clean that. If anyone has run into this problem, I would appreciate all advice.

I would try something like Megs APC+ diluted 10:1 (water:chemical) and a towel of some sort. If it's textured, I would use a brush like Meg's Slidelock wher eyou can make the bristles a little bit stiff. If it's smooth, just the towel should work. The APC will strip wax if you get it on your paint though so you may need to rewax after you rewash the truck. Which brings me to rewashing the truck to make sure you get whatever chemical you use off.

Some people will say peanut butter works. I just don't see myself using peanut butter on vehicle. Then you have to clean that off.

If you don't want to order Meg's APC+ and you don't have any already, you can try diluting Simple Green and using that.

EDIT - Mna i ned two star t proofreding hings. Haha.

I usually get most stains out of rubber and plastic with 50/50 water alcohol mix.

Mother's Back to Black will actually dry out white in the grain, plus you may be experiencing some bleacking of the plastic, from the sun. Black Wow is a dye and is good. I have had great results with Bondo Restore Black, but with both of these, it requires redoing about every 3 months. A more permanent solution is to paint the rails with Krylon Fusion. Several of us have done the wiper cowls with great results and a few have done the rails. I plan on doing mine when my Bondo is gone.

No, I'm not sure. Never used it. I was just going from memory, which is not a good thing. I was thinking that was the product the guys were saying was a dye and worked pretty well. There was one that they were saying is similar to Restore Black, which is a dye. Now I wonder what it was.

I would use Black Wow. There isn't any dye in BW.

Mine were too white for anything but a dye. Had to have something with color that would stay awhile.
