TESTED, New PB SSR1, LSP-SuperNatural
Finally had a chance to try out the new PB SSR1 product on a few new scratches I got from Turkey Hunting, after that, I polished the entire truck with it using a Black Lake VC pad, Flex Polisher and the new SSR1. In addition, PB sent me a new product to test out which is not available yet. When more info is available he will update us but based on his feedback it is a product designed for the harder clear's. I tested it on one of the scratches as well.
The scratches I am dealing with. (they appear to be surface marring but I found out, under them there is indeed a smaller deeper scratch)
They are about 6-8 inches long. Please note, for the scratches I used the PC 7424, 3" backing plate and 4" White Lake CCS pad. The rest of the truck was done with the Flex and a Black LC VC pad.
Before:
Hit the bottom scratch with the new SSR1 (which is yellow and not pink)
First impressions of the new SSR1. It has more cut than the original SSR1 but finishes very nicely once the product has broken down. It also has a nice citrus smell.
Next I hit the top scratch with the new mystery product...it worked really fast, and removed more of the underlying scratch better than the SSR1 did with 2 short passes. It was super easy on easy off. Both new products finished enough to go right to LSP or sealer.
Yeah I know, reflecto shot but this is the door I did...finished the entire door using the new SSR1
The new products
One thing to note, when using on a warm or hot surface, I did get some clumping and little dust, however, this went away on the cooler panels. Even though these can be used in sun and shade, I would recommend using on a cool surface. If you are outside, I would do the hood and roof first (Which is what you should do anyway)
I was VERY impressed with new SSR1, after properly breaking down the product, the PB users will find comfort knowing that it comes off as easy as other PB products. I really liked the combo of the lake black finish pad and SSR1.
After the car was prepped, I put one coat of Dodo SuperNatural on.
A few new photos. (Note, Tires and Wheel wells not dressed at this point)
Lastly, it's no secret that I am a fan of PB products, and I think Steve hit a home run with the new SSR's. This was the first time that I have used SSR1 with a Finish pad, I usually go with a White Polish pad, but per his recommendation I went with the black and I am glad I did. It finished so well I didn't need to to burnish the surface saving me some time. The new SSR1 can be used with a PC, Flex and High Speed. Obviously you are going to get a range of cut from this product based on speed, pad and machine. My truck had only very little micro marring besides the scratches I took out but the product did what it was designed to do. So if you have light spider webbing and light micro marring, this is a good product. If more correction is needed try the new SSR2.5 first.
Cheers

Thanks OD, I used a Red Foam Applicator from RagShack.
Thanks guys, I hope to wow you yet again with my detail tomorrow. Cannot decide, SSR1 on the EXPY or the new Optimum Polish II followed by PP and SN.
We'll see how I feel in the am. Had a pretty rough week at work.
esf I already said it looked fantastic over at The Detailer's Cafe but it's worth another mention. That really looks great. The clarity is second to none. Sharp!
