First Time Clay Bar
#2
Wash, use 2 buckets one to rinse the mit out and the other to get it soapy again. I like 2 use 2 mits, so once can hang out in the bucket getting all sudsy while I continue to wash with the other one. After that make sure its dry, I use a leafblower to get all the water out of the cracks and cowl. They claybar, I like to do it in sections, drying the clay lubricant as I'm done with that section. Then I go straight to the NXT 2.0 wax which is amazing. Polish it off and good to go

I can see it taking a couple (two) hours if you're not used to claying and the vehicle doesn't get maintained like some of us maintain our vehicles. But then again, I'm thinking of my Expedition which has a lot of real estate, ie the damn roof! But even that, if kept up with half way decent, shouldn't be bad.

I got the Mothers clay kit yesterday because I noticed my hood and other places felt like sandpaper. I tried waxing it and stuff... but it didn't take off the damage.
So I clayed the entire truck carefully and now it's back to new.
The clay bar is now black, as there was that much contaminants on the finish. Most of it came off the hood and the top cab of the truck.

Interesting stuff isn't it? Sounds like it worked well for ya. I've used clay bar a bunch on my 'Stangs and the bumpers, hood and roof are always the worst. Here's a beer for ya

It's like I was asking myself this, "Where the heck is all this stuff coming from????"
