New Paint Job!

Hey everyone I just got a new paint job, not a scratch or dent anywhere! Due to someone hitting me I got a whole new paint job covered by insurance, even included my tool box. Paint it same color with clear coat to, it was already black anyways just wanted it to shine more. Well ive been hearing your suppose to wait so long till you wash and wax it and im wondering how long is that exactly? And what would be the perfect first wax to use on it? Thanks for the help ill upload pictures when it stops raining around here

when i got my truck back from the body shop, they said not to wash it for i think 6 weeks...but there was no chance in hell i was waiting that long, and this was dead in the middle of winter. so i took it to the self wash and rinsed it off. i didnt wait a week...lol....paint held up good though. i just advise yo if your front bumper is painted, watch out for chipping cuz me along with a few other members had the same prob-with the paint chipping continuosly after its been painted over the factory paint....

Normally after a week you are good to go! Use Mother's Carnauba Wax (paste not liquid) it is really thick and takes a long time to buff but nothing comes close to the shine. Also make sure you do a small area at a time... if you don't it will dry and be a pain in the a** to get off. Good Luck!

You should wait 60-90 days before any kind of waxing. This gives the paint time to "flash" since it's not baked on.

As far as washing, I've always washed my vehicles the same after a repaint. Just be sure to use a good quality soap diluted to the proper amounts.

Both of them, metAl and plastic. On my truck both were replaced as well. Nothing beat the factory paint.
