Post save lots of time wash jobs

after you wash your truck use a leaf blower to dry it off. I have been doing this for years with my harley-----no scratches from towels or shamois

Wink

I'd love to use a leaf blower, too bad I don't have one. I do use an air compressor to get all the water out of the cracks though. I got sick of drivin off and havin all the water come runnin out and leavin streaks.

Well I like my solution more. Just get in the truck and take it for a quick spin around the block before you dry it off. The wind helps to blow the water off, plus the driving helps to "shake" the water out of those little cracks and crevices.

Driving to remove water drops works too but sometimes you pick up dust before the water evaporates or is blown off and that leaves dirty water spots. There are always little areas that the water will not blow off by driving. My truck is black and water spots are ugly on black paint

LoL, you use your leaf blower to dry off your dog? If I was driving down the road and seen someone drying their dog with a leaf blower, I would start laughing my *** off.

Cool

After reading about using a blower to dry the truck a few weeks ago, I tried it. Works great, but like earlier post said, have to work from top down, also helps to do the trap areas first (ie. door handles, cracks, etc.). Down side, the wife is getting a lot of mileage out of it telling her friends!

Okay, I bought a leaf blower yesterday. Sort of an early birthday present to myself.

Well, I got mixed results. My water must be pretty hard compared to you guys. If I had used just the blower, I would have had streaks all over the truck.

On the other hand, using the blower has stopped those "phantom" streaks from around the rear windows, bedrails, door handles, and the mirrors. It also came in handy in blowing off the water from the honeycomb grill. Up until this time, I was sticking a towel wrapped finger into each hole to dry off the dripping water.

Years ago, in 1970, I convince my mother to buy a Dodge R/T, 440 cu.in. 375 hp, as our family car! After washing one day I took it for a spin to dry it off. My usual route was out Hwy 72 toward nowhere. I left the stop sign and got on it a little. Well, this plain, 4 door Chevy Impala stayed right with me. I think, "This guy ain't hanging with the kid, so I floored it. 80, 90, 100, all the way to 140 (or so the speedo said). This old Chevy is hanging and gaining!!! Yep, you guessed it - a cop. Whooooooooooooo, pull it over buddy. Talked him out of a wreckless driving, down to a 20 mph over the limit. Whew. I use a leaf blower too now. Much cheaper!

I use the blower off the top of my ShopVac. Works alright but wakes the neighbours if I wash the truck early on Saturday mornings.

What I want is an electric dog polisher. George Carlin talked about that in one of his early skits.
