Help me get that red dot off my tires!

Does anyone have any solution for removing that red dot off of these new Pirelli tires? I have washed my truck every week since new (3/10) and those dots are still holding on and refuse to let go.

my thanks

I use brake cleaner and an old rag. Spray the cleaner onto the rag and give it a rub or two and it should come right off..

Well, 'Dot' isn't a very descriptive term.
If it's as small as a pea and not noticable at a few feet then I agree it's not serious.

However, if the Dot is as big as a quarter then at thirty or so mph it could easily give the impression one was riding around on red walls.

And anybody riding on red walls is just putting on airs, plain and simple.

The new Continental's I put on the wife's Escape have that unremovable "dot" as well -- I'll have to try the brake cleaner routine and see if it works!

Some general information on dots...

These are guides to technicians in mounting tires so that aligning the red mark with the low spot on the wheel(usually marked on wheel with white dot) is the best method for mounting tires.

If the brake fluid suggestion doesn't work (though I'm sure it will) try rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover. Be careful not to get either of those on any other painted surface.
