I believe a coat of wax every 2 to 3 months will look better and cost a lot less, but then I'm not a big fan of "sealants" or anything else that makes that kind of claims.
BTW, get ready for a barrage of different answers.

Cool

If applied right sealers do work well. Be prepared to use a cleaner/prep before, special cleaner/wax once applied, and remover if you want it off. Use matching products. J C Whitney has "Duro Glow System" products which are much cheaper than letting someone else do it, and you can control if it is done right. I had a sealer on a 1998 Supra and it was softer than wax, and it showed much more swirl marks. I decided after that to just wax my new truck. It did bead water well, and allowed for easy removal of bugs.

Use both. The sealer will give the finish a deep WET look. Go over that with a good carnuba wax which is harder and will protect the finish and the sealer.
Meguiars also has a nice system called deep crystal. It comes with step 1, 2, and 3. Step one is a soap for cleaning, two is a polish and 3 is carnuba wax.
Have fun

I agree with WLF. Check out Meguiar's Online, they will even give you a free 'Car Care Prescription' for your particular vehicle. This will explain the three step process and other hints.

I use nothing but Meguiar's products and would highly recommend them.
