As long as the towel is clean before using (as with any MF towel) it has worked well for me.

I also frequently inspect my MF towel during use to make sure I didn't pick up any dirt.

Look at your paint under a sun gun, or with a loop, and you night not be so happy with them.

Yes, I already have and the camera flash test or sun test tells no lies.

So what experience do you have with these waffle weave MF towels?

they have a tendency to induce a lot of micro marring when used for anything other than blotting.

Forget the tendency. I bought 2 quality WW's from a quality online retailer and they induced serious marring. They drink and hold plenty of water but the price of using them is just too high in the long run.

I will use them on beaters or vehicles prior to correction and on glass but I learned the hard way to never use them on corrected paint.

I think any MF towel would induce micro marring if not used properly.

Are you selling or representing a certain MF towel?

I bought one of these (attachment only; eBay = $10!!!). Haven't got it yet, but hoping it works better than leaf blower w/o attachment.

cheap ones will cause issues even when used properly. good ones won't.

more power to you if you are happy. but if you are happy with towels you are buying at O'Reilly's, then your standards are lower than mine. (nothing wrong with that)

I would say the risk of marring is 97% less drying with THESE towels compared to WWMF if you used both properly. I have experience with both the OP's towels several other brands and those in the link.

I don't even know why I bother anymore.

Whatever. I am past the point of arguing with people about it, or anything else dealing with vehicle care, for that matter.

It isn't worth the headache.

tardosaurus,

Do you have any idea who you're trying to stick needles into? Gip is one of the most experienced detailers on this site and we're lucky to have him share his knowldge with us. If folks (not the word I was going to use) like you insist on acting like you are here, maybe Doug will just stop posting in here. Then who would we have to listen to and trust, you?

When I first came to this site I used to and learn before I posted. Then I would throw my ideas out and they would get beat down. I tried suggestions, saw the results and wanted more and better. Some will always just want average and wish to teach others average and never learn better ways.

For every hard head that brags they will continue to do it wrong, there are probably 5 people lurking in the background reading and learning how to do it better or near best it can be.
Dont deprive them of solid information Gip.
If not for many of you here I would still be marring my paint and using inappropriate, substandard products and thinking my methods were the best.
Ignorance always has it own rewards.
