Question Anyone Use Langka For Paint Chip Repair?

I've noticed several rock chips on the front bumper of my '00 Lightning and bought a bottle of touch-up to cover them up. I then found a product called Langka on the Internet. It claims to remove the excess "blob" that can result from using touch-up.

Before I buy it, does anyone have good/bad experiences w/ it? BTW, for more info, go to langka.com

F150IslandBoy,

Yes, I finally tried the stuff, and it worked fairly well, at least on small chips (haven't tried it on larger ones, yet). I'd just recommend that you use fresh touch-up paint.

I 1st tried it on my '93 MR2 (blue metallic) w/ paint that had thickened up, and the results weren't that great. I then tried it on my white L's bumper using new touch-up, and I was much happier w/ the results. I only had to repeat the process once since the 1st application wasn't quite flush w/ the original paint job.

I had to special order touch up paint. Should be here in a few days.

Would you say it's worth it? Could you describe the process. How many applications is it good for?

My scratches are pretty bad but not bad enough to have it brought to a body shop. And I'm not in the mood to spend $1,000+ to have my left rear quarter panel redone when my whole truck has small dings and scratches in various spots.

For me, yes, it was worth the $20 since I'm not patient w/ touching-up rock chips. Plus, it's pretty goof-proof. According to the packaging, the bottle will last "hundreds of repairs." I'd say it'll come close to 100.

The process is very straight forward. You clean the chip w/ rubbing alcohol and apply the paint so that there is a "blob" over the chip. After allowing the paint to dry for 45-90 mins, you wrap a smooth cloth around the enclosed plastic card and spread some Langka on it. Then you rub over the blob until it's even w/ the original paint. No sanding necessary. Simple, eh?

I still have a few chips to take care of, but I think that the few I've done look a lot better than they would have w/o it.

csacom, you can find them on the web at http://www.langka.com

WiteSVTLite, thanks for the info. I think I'll order some now and give it a try. I never knew how many scratches I had until I did close inspection of my paint job.
