turtle wax black polish

Hello galaxie and welcome.
I posted the original mention of the Turtrle Wax product.
It is not one of those color restorer products out there. I will have to check when I get home what is actualy says on the bottle. This stuff is a polymer polish just like NuFinish but because it is black in color, it works great. They also make it in white, blue and green.
Interesting that they don't even mention the product on the Turtle Wax web site. I emailed them to make sure it wasn't being discontinued and they told me it wasn't. If it was, I would run out and buy all the bottles on the shelf. Will get back to you with the acual name on the bottle.

Thanks JDF for getting back to me. Didn't mention that before I wrote I'd gone through the website looking for it too...A couple of followup thoughts occur to me; I've got a pewter rocker panel stripe and white pinstripes (all factory). Will using the black wax affect them? How about the chrome on the bumpers? Also as I understand the posts, it's good for using on exterior rubber parts (rub trim for example)too - so no 'white dust' after it dries...?
Thanks very much

It is called
"COLOR MAGIC"
"enriched with color" or something like that.
States: excellent for hiding swirl marks and minor scratches. it's true.
I don't put in on black trim on purpose (weather seals around windows and so forth) but what little does get on it won't leave the white residue. I think it is a different product they are talking about that they put on black hard rubber trim like bumpers and such. That's one of the reasons I like it so much. Don't worry about the pin stripes. My wife's black car (2000 Altima) has silver stripes and it doesn't effect them since they are glossy plastic and not porous. I couldn't speak for the rocker panel trim. If it is a slick surface, I wouldn't think it would harm anything; just wipe it off. Just remember it is a polish. Don't try to "polish" something that isn't supposed to be shiny.
Jeff
P.S. remember to wear gloves, it's like shoe polish.
