I have been using Zaino on my truck for 8 months now, and it looks great on my truck. My F150 is 3 years old, and the paint looks better than a lot of newer trucks. I do baby the paint, and wash it once a week, dust it daily, and spray with the Zaino polish to keep it clean. IMO, Zaino for black is the best. I enter my truck in shows all the time, and people come up to me and ask me if the truck has been re-painted. Nope, factory paint job, they can't believe it.

Cool

Mudder, your truck is awesome! How the heck do you keep it looking that way after taking it off road, too?! Must spend some (much!) extra time detailing, huh? Or, can we attribute it to Zaino. Guess I need to check it out.

I have a difficult enough time keeping my baby super sharp and it's not even driven in the rain.

what kind of 2mtr rig?? and how did you mount it. i have a yeasu 2500 and have not put it in yet because i just love the interior too much to mess it up. what do you use for an antenna? i also have a yeasu 900 for hf. but i usually keep it in the house or the r.v.

Hi las52,

The radio is a Kenwood 261A. I have the same radio in all 3 of my vehicles only because the price was right! The rig is mounted as you can see and is out of the way and easy to remove without hurting the dash. (At home, I use a Yaesu 5100 dual bander for 2-meter, btw.)

The antenna is a through-the-window mounted Antenna Specialists AP143. I couldn't stand to mess up the truck with one on the roof and it wouldn't fit in the garage, anyhow. The AS antenna loses some gain by not having as good a ground plane as a mag-mount, but it works well enough!

Take a look! :

Cool

Thanks. During the summer time I don't off-road, since that is truck show season I keep it as clean as I can, and the Zaino does help so much. You have a nice truck as well, as you can barely see in that first pic above, I am parked next to my buddies new SC Harley. Such a beautiful truck.

I still find that Cherry Wet Wax is the best. Applies very easily and very little dust and residue left. No streaking and a very deep luster. I have tried them all and it is the best as far as I am concerned.

I've been using RainX FastWax on my black/gold Lariat and it's Super Shiny... dirt won't stick, comes off with the hose. The best part: NO WHITE RESIDUE to jack with. It just doesn't do that. It takes about 15 min. to do the whole truck and I've been doing it about once a week after a wash. After it's done, a rag won't even stay on the hood... it slides off! People stop me in parking lots and ask what I have on it! It really sparkles!

My vote goes to Zaino. It is better for your paint than the carnuba based waxes. Sal Zaino is an expert concerning waxes and polishes, if you have any questions for him he will always answer an email---his email is at zainobros.com

My vote goes for Zaino as well. Best shine I have ever got and I have tried lots of snake oils and others. Stay away from silicone based products or your body guy will hate you if you ever need paint. I used to use one because of ease of use and after time it soaks all the way to the metal and you will get a nice orange peel paint job. Granted it was only an Omni O24 and I shouldn't have wasted money on painting it to begin with.
