Cleaning leather

Probably been asked before...

What is the best product for cleaning the leather-wrapped steering wheel and the seating surfaces??

I've used Lexol most recently, because the auto store I go to was of my usual, wasn't real thrilled with the conditioner. The cleaner seemed to work fine. The conditioner didn't seem to condition the seats well enough.

I've used Mother's. Good stuff.

I mostly use the Meguiar's two part cleaner & conditioner with aloe. That stuff has gotten everything off any color leather and I like the way it conditions the best.

It's just a lot of trial and error. Find something you like and stick with it.

Many thanks for the input...I think I have a bottle of lexol somewhere in the garage...

Steering wheel is a bit on the grungy side...but the console in the wife's Accura is the worst... Oh crap...did I really say that?

What I meant to say was it could use a bit of a wipe down...LOL

So the Lexol stuff is safe for this "clear coated dyed leather seating that Ford strongly recommends is cleaned in Motorcraft leather & conditioner only"?

Do you really think Ford wants you to buy any product other than the ones it sells?

Slightly. Only in certain areas. That being gaskets, 5w20 oil, I don't know about leather but I know I don't want to screw it up due to the cost to re-cover. That being said after reading the AutoGeek thread about asking questions, I am looking at Lexol and Pinnacle leather care products.

Pinnacle makes some great product; I use the car wash and the SSII wax so I'd imagine you can't go wrong with it. My dad uses it and he says it does great but I didn't like the smell.

I just bought the Pinnacle Concours Interior Kit yesterday from AutoGeek for my black Lariat interior. Arrival date is Aug 2nd, going to be a long 5 days.

I have had experience with Pinnacle products before, good stuff. Hoping it will be worth the investment. Buying the leather and vinyl cleaner and the leather conditioner themselves was well over $60 so another $20 some for the additional Cobra MFs and brushes they provide seemed like an acceptable deal. Plus my seats are in dear need of conditioning and I only want to do be the safest with them and use the best product to maintain them. I was all set to order some Lexol Tuesday morning until I found the Pinnacle stuff and seen some reviews. Hoping its worth the extra bucks.
