Need help...what am i doin wrong?

Hey guys...

So i like to wash my truck about once a week...
I have a 2011 candy red which i loveee

I use meguirs gold wash and use the 2 bucket hand wash method.
Then i usually take a Chamios get the main water drops off and the go over it again...
Seems when im done i had some swirls on my hood today..this got me worried. What am i doing?
Brand new chamios without anything on it etc...

Don't use a Chamios to dry the truck, use the sheeting method with the nozzel off the hose so you get a nice smooth stream of low pressure water and follow up with a blower to take care of any remaining water. No matter how clean you think that chamios is it still collects dirt and there is no nap to it to lift the dirt away from the paint and hold it away so it does not induce maring to the clear.

Use a blower to dry it.....

Depending on how many miles it might be time for clay, polish,+wax.....

To finish up after sheeting/blowing, you can use a soft microfiber towel and spray quick detailer.

^Agreed!

I recently did a 2011 black Camaro with less than 50 miles on it.
The owner stated to the dealer "do not wash it when it arrives. It is going straight to me detailer."
It had so many swirls on it that it looked like it had been driven through a nest of spider webs.

How long have you had the truck?
Has the truck ever been waxed before?
Check the wash mitt for dirt or buy a new one.
Is this the first time you have seen the swirls?
Sound like it needs a good machine paint polishing.
Are you planning on doing the paint correction yourself?

If so, I would NOT use one of these!

When washing your vehicle, don't use a circular motion. Use a straight "back and forth" / "left to right" motion.
