Where Have All the Lovebugs Gone?
"Long time coming"
Those of us living in the south have come to know a bi-annual curse known as the "lovebug" or flying fornicaters. They are illegal aliens from Central America.
Masses of these things would coat the entire front of a vehicle after just a short trip. They would always appear in May and again in September for several weeks each.
For the last two years here in north Florida they have been extremly rare to non-existant. I've heard they're still going strong in central and south Florida but we've been blessed up here. I don't know what the reason for this is but if it's "global warming" let's keep it up.
Now if we can just get the same result for the crop destroying "leaf footed stink bug" life will be much more pleasant.
