Does anyone NOT have door cracks?

Damn you , Swampview! How come I don't ever catch deals?
Also, with any dash kit I would follow close instructions about placing the pieces where they are going before you start, so when you clean with rubbing alcohol you clean just those parts. You will have to be prepared for the "damage" the rubbing alcohol does around the instrument panel, radio bezel, and dash surround (but not the doors for some reason). It discolors the OEM dash material, which makes little difference since it is going to be covered by the 3M adhesive promotor and dash piece, but it just catches you off guard when you do it...I was like, "Oh crap, I better clean just where i need to and hope the dash kit never comes off." But with the 3M adhesive promotor the dash kit is fixed on solid, and would be almost impossible to get off.
DAMN! I just went to the automega website and came back to edit this message. You are right, $300 bucks....$110 bucks cheaper than my purchase...Well, I still love it. The computer screen doesn't do that Regal Burl color justice, it's beautiful...So is the other Burl too...

You know I asked them about that and they told me that they raised the price just for you . . .
Even on screen the Regal Burl looks good, but then again so does the Teak and the Black Rose, and the . . .
Swampview
BTW: Thanks for the tips . . .

Good luck with your search for a dash kit.....Errr...What am I saying, apparently you are already having good luck. I hope you find the perfect dash kit for your truck. Makes all the difference in the world to me. That's why the truck is the perfect vehicle for me - it can be elegant on the inside and an asskicker on the outside.

Darn, I was going to point out that there seemed to be a correlation between regular cab responses here and no door cracks, but then I noticed some Supercab posts in the sigs (I have no sig but a regular cab).
Maybe the Supercab people could delete their posts so that my theory would work??

As I said before, my '99 reg cab has no cracks.
Saw my dad's truck yesterday. He got a '99 reg cab two months after me. He has a driver's side crack about a quarter inch.
The only difference, I have power windows, he has manual.
Both trucks have over 39K.
I showed him where his door was cracked. He looked at me like I was crazy and shrugged. He works out of his truck, and has said mine was worthless because it was a shortbed.
He has been known to slam a door when he's mad. He hadn't noticed the crack because he hasn't washed the truck since July of '99.
Hopefully, when my door cracks I'll be as old and ornery as him. When someone points it out to me I'll look at them like they're crazy and shrug.
p.s. I'm 45 years old and he still refers to me as "that boy".

New Truck
I bought a new 150 lst night and drove it home! My son and I were quite impressed with ride. Anyway, its a 2001 model, but the build date is 11/00 if I am not mistaken. I am suprised that it was still on dealer lot. I am now curious to know if doors were properly built with reinforcements. Is it possible to look down window jam with flashlight and see if reinforcements were installed. Or, should I pull door panel and look?
