Does anyone NOT have door cracks?

While visiting my local body shop, I saw pre-2000 F150 getting a door replaced. Both the old door and the new door had the trim off and I could see that both doors had a reinforcement plate but the one on the old door was shorter. The plate on the new door extended all the way to the back of the window and slightly upward.
The trim (plastic strip at the bottom of the window) on the old door is 1 piece but the trim on the new door is 2 pieces. Could it be that this new door is the fix for the crack This may be a way of determining if your door will crack. I have a 2000 super cab with the 2 piece trim and no cracks yet, but it only has 8000 miles.

Crack popped up on the drivers door first, then the passenger, thought nothing of it at the time, until I read everything here, i had no idea it was such a big issue. All that i did to temp. fix it was a bit of touch up paint, at least so that it wasnt noticeable unless you really look at it.

99 Super Cab with 65,000 on it and a door crack on the driver's side. Power windows. This crack has been there for a while but I didn't know it was a crack until you folks told me (looked like a small scratch). I'll touch it up with paint and the leasing company can deal with it when I turn it in.

Overcoming the fear of jinxing myself, I can report my '99 (built 3/99) reg cab with 34,000mi has no cracks yet. Although I had my windows tinted soon after I bought it, and rarely put my windows down. If the cracks are caused by the window travel, I want to delay the occurance as long as possible.
