Thanks man. There are great detailers out there to learn from. None of us just discovered this craft. We had to have help. I always thought i knew what I was doing until I got to F150OL. Then it took off with what I learned from the original "Elders"s here. The rest is history.

Correction is always the goal but reflecto's shots are fun.

I'm always amazed at what you guys are able to do. I'm actually really picky about certain things with paint, like repainted body panels drive me bonkers because they're always off just a tad and even if the match is dead perfect, the mismatched-orange peel is always there. I'd much rather have a small ding or scratch here and there (on a truck anyway). But I never dedicate the time to fully detail my truck and probably never will unfortunately. I just rarely seem willing to. If I had a nice Mustang with better paint to start with, I'd like to think it would be different.

It's something I would like to know how to do at some point though. Somebody put a nice 3 foot (actual length) scratch down the side of my truck the other day. It didn't go down to the metal and it should come out or at least barely be noticeable with a buff and wax, but it would certainly be nice to have some tricks learned for dealing with things like that so they come out looking their best.

I'd say with Ford it is hit and miss, some are good and some are really bad...obviously the rockers are bad for a reason but still..I have seen some really nice paint on some Fords but then I have seen some really, really bad ones too.

Don't have any of the new truck, but here's a few of past trucks. The tux black metallic doesn't have to wow factor reflection for obvious reasons, but once winter passes I'll get some shots in the spring.

As far as the factory paint, I've found quite a few issues with my 2013 tux black. They must have had some sort of sticker on the doors that left two perfectly circular faded/discolored spots. I was able to work those out with the DA and some time. I also have multiple runs/streaks/drips on the inside of my doors. Looks pretty aweful but there's not much I can do about that.

Awesome thread! While mine is no where near as nice as some of these, I'm still happy with it. I'm just an amateur that likes a clean looking vehicle:

Lake Country makes a soft GOLD pad that's pretty nice.
